New locomotive: TMB Class 100

This is the first underground train that run over the rails under the city of Barcelona, in 1926. Nowadays there is still one of them restored, which is in the depot of «Can Boixeres», Barcelona.

These railcars were the largest in the world (in its class) for the next 35 years, and were removed from service in 1979, after several upgrades. They were as long as 21.7 meters, and had capacity for 54 seated and 184 standing passengers, which was really impressive by late 1920s.

The real specifications for this vehicle are (taken from WEFER.COM, in spanish/catalan):
  • Units built: 12
  • Total length: 21.69 m
  • Total weight: 56 t
  • Top speed: N/A
  • Power output: 96 kW
