New locomotive: Renfe Serie 319

This was a series of 106 diesel-electric locomotives manufactured by General Motors between 1965 and 1972. This class suffered many upgrades, being renamed to 319.2, 319.3 and 319.4.

One of the most important upgrades took place from 1988 to 1994, when the subclass 319.3 was created by upgrading the existing 319 locomotives; the most important change was the power, which was raised from 1475 kW to 1664 kW.

This locomotives have 1475 kW (319) and 1664 kW (319.3) of power, and a maximum speed of 120 Km/h. Their were mainly used to pull freight trains. They had the nickname of «Yankies» due to its american origin.

This locomotive has been coded as a freight locomotive, available since 1965; in 1988 becomes available the upgraded 319.300. A length of 7 has been used, so they are a bit shorter than standard engines (8).
